I miss listening to WHAT the artists had to say. For example, I loved Too Short but out here it was very difficult to find his CDs and this was before the internet and downloadng/online purchases.

So when i would find a short CD or had someone buy me one on their trip to the US i would get excited as hell listening to what he had to say and his topics.

Same with many other artists but just as an example. This is missing now.

i miss originality in the music. these days it's more about imitating your favorite rappers down to their flow, style, etc. and imitating whatever sound is hot. originality still exists but there's just too much music these days to find the real hot shit unless you wanna listen through a million songs.

no the 90's wasn't just that g'd up vibe the 90's was everything or we should say like 87/88 to 97. concious rap, hardbody rap, godbody rap, gangsta rap, miami bass, mobb music, screw music, pop rap, 90's had it all and you could hear more than pop rap or southern shit on the radio or tv all day long.
Yeah, I wasn't too elaborate on my post. It was leaning towards the stuff I missed... that early 90's Bay mob music (93-97) and some of the radio mainstream along the same time frame. Which doesn't equate to the whole 90's era, but I do get what you're saying as I grew up and listened to a lot that too.
