In studio features instead of email features. The collaboration of two artist on a song or album has been replaced with cut and paste songs. To me music is about emotion and vibe and that's hard to capture via email.

Story Telling. I definitely miss story telling. Painting a picture with words. Not just rapping about sipping Bo having hella hoes riding big rims but really saying something. Old school Luniz ,Spice1, Mac Mall etc..........

^^^That! ..... and beat selection! Seems to me like most artist nowadays are fine with grabbin' some mainstream instrumental and throwing that typa shit on there albums. How many thousands of tracks are out there using Rick Ross- Blowing Money Fast? No originality for shit anymore! Unfortunately, it's just how rap is nowadays. If we could only go back to how The Bay fucked w/ it back in the 90's & early 00's!

I miss the dedication that artist had to making the best product possible. Most projects seemed rushed now; back then The artist took pride in their music and put together some great projects. I just hate the fact that all the music sounds the same.

I am listening to the 4080 bay area greatest hits volume 1 right now. the heart these artists put into telling their stories is the shit. There is no soul no distinct sound to any artist anymore. you use to be able to hear the first couple of chords and know whose beat was being laid down. the beats now are just like a sitcom laugh track used over and over again.

regional sound.. the bay had it's own sound that's for sure. this is more of a producer issue. back then, even if producers did beats for non bay artists u could still hear that bay flavor in em. for example DJ Daryl was doin beats for No Limit and those were the better than KLC and all them. i duno if it's possible for producers to go back to their old formula. Rick Rock dont sound the same anymore, EA-Ski dont sound the same, Tone Capone, etc..

thank goodness for T.C. stayin with his formula!
