i've heard some crazy shit from taj-he-spitz lately. if he learned how to take his best music further and start building a brand around it, he'd have a shot at making a classic album. his image and way about him is kinda stuck in 2007 too — which will fuck your shit up bad when you try to transition out of the region, because the bay was a joke in 2007.

i don't know about commercial success because honestly there's a lot more that plays into it than music quality, but for most artists that aren't a weird white girl or lil b that's where you gotta start.

HD's another one that makes about 1 track out of 20 that's amazing. but he kinda has a tunnel vision in the hood category that i don't think he'll be able to shake.

funny thing is all these problems can be solved if you surround yourself with the right handlers — but whatever it's not my job. from a fan perspective i don't give a fuck if the rappers i listen to blow up or not, as long as i get to blap it in the sentra. lol.
I think you have been listening to his old songs then because Taji's new shit is all 2013 style. Thats why I think he can blow up because he can make
like typical bay area gangster rap plus he can make the type of songs that could be on the radio and mtv and his voice is charasmatic making none of his songs boring. I dont think any bay area rapper like him will get signed but they could get famous and blow up without a deal like guys like Lil boosie and guicci did.

I'm my constant shinanigans of posting threads about Kreayshawn and Lil Debbie I see there is a lot of hate towards them even though they're from the bay. And I see people with mixed feelings towards A-Wax and the Mob Figaz so my question is what do you guys look for when it comes to bay artists that makes them dope? Whether it being and up and coming artist or an establish/well known artist. Lyrics? Relatabilaty?
i look for a methhead who can cookup in the middle of walmart n not give a fuck!

Beats & lyrics along with style & delivery... potential when comparing to signed artists/mainstream artists.

If it's a new artist I haven't heard before, I'll think the artist or group is probably gonna suck; that way after I hear a few songs I won't be disappointed. If it's dope, then I'll be like damn, a hidden gem.
