Everybody seems to have a different opinion on how 9/11 came about. Democrats blame Republicans, and conservatives blame liberals.
Conservatives (such as myself) complain it was political correctness.
Liberals complain it was our own selfish, democratic greed that got the other side (Islam) hating us.
I find myself beleiving that maybe it's both.
Let's take the latter for example, the liberal point of view. They don't like us because, well, we are greedy, and we seem to tolerate everything under the sun that is evil, sinful, and downright against what Islam beleives in. Well, what does liberalism beleive in? If you research back to 2-0-sixx's essay on "what makes conservatism" or whatever it was titled, you'll find that liberalims is an acceptance to change.
Well, let's break this down even more. What changes have come about in the past, say, 10, 20, even 30 years? Now I'm not going on a liberal bash, I'm really not, but let's look at what has been accepted in the United State's society under the guys of liberalism, or so called "progressivness" (which got a good kick off in the early 60's).
Things accepted-
-I'll start with sex. Everywhere you turn there's sex. T.V. commercials, rap songs, R&B songs, videos, magazines, childrens magazines, computers (porn). Everywhere you look there's sex. Sex. Sex. Sex. Sex.
-Now violence. Again, movies shows, magazines, cartoons. But hey, it's the 1st amendment, right? Yes, infact, it is.
-How about homosexuality. Again, I'm not bashing it so don't get the wrong idea. Homosexuality is taught in sex ed classes, t.v. shows (Will & Grace, one of many examples), movies, classrooms. Again, it's just another lifestyle. My child, (or yours) turns on MTV, he see's a bastion of unhealthy, sexual lifestyles left and right. Everyone is having an orgy. How bout that new reality show on NBC where the guy chooses from like 4 guys to take one home at the end of the show?
-Now, the big one, materialism. Everything is for sale. Look good, sound good. Buy the best. Be the best. You aren't nothin unless you drink Coke. C'mon, everyone's gotta Escalade, why don't you buy one? Or how bout steal the money to buy one? Etc......
My point is, there are so many different lifestyles and ways of life endorsed by liberals, under the "1st amendment" whether they are acceptable or not, they are just loved and eaten up by lefties as "just another lifestyle".
"If it feels good, do it."
Well, for thirty years, sex, drugs, and rock & roll has felt good. So we did it.
Now were seen as The Great Satan. Can't you see why?
