How do you view marriage?

What is the importance of procreation to marriage? Should it be confined to marriage? If so, why and how?

What is the importance of love, romance, commitment, pleasure, and friendship to marriage and sex?

What is the importance of personal finances to marriage?

Should men and women take on specialized roles within marriage?

What civil and/or Church laws should apply to divorce?

What should the guidelines be for birth control?

Should same-sex relations be recognized by the state and/or sanctified by churches?

Is premarital sex immoral or wrong? If so, what makes it so? If it is okay or good, what makes it so? What limits would you place on it?

What is your view of pseudo-marriages (e.g. cohabitation, experimental marriage)?

What role, if any, should the state play in protecting, encouraging, or supporting marriage and childbearing? Why?

What role, if any, should the state play in supporting and protecting children born out of wedlock?

Feel free to answer any and all if you feel like it. I'll post up mine within the next day.

How do you view marriage? A 50/50 chance by all accounts.

What is the importance of procreation to marriage? Should it be confined to marriage? If so, why and how? It's not life and death important, but it's usually the next step. Confined? Only in a perfect world.

What is the importance of love, romance, commitment, pleasure, and friendship to marriage and sex? Amplifiers and solidifiers.

What is the importance of personal finances to marriage? Better foundation. Less headaches. Love doesn't pay the bills.

Should men and women take on specialized roles within marriage? Everything is 60/40. No such thing as 50/50. And I mean that on a skill-by-skill level. My wife is better on finances while I'm better with dicipline.

What civil and/or Church laws should apply to divorce? You'd have to be more specific and or cite examples.

What should the guidelines be for birth control? Be safe, but most of all, be SMART.

Should same-sex relations be recognized by the state and/or sanctified by churches? Seperation of Church and State, ever heard of it? Enough advocates can change any state laws, but churches are private entities and cannot/shall not be forced to recognize anything against their will.

Is premarital sex immoral or wrong? If so, what makes it so? If it is okay or good, what makes it so? What limits would you place on it? Immoral and or wrong? To a "50's" mentality, yes. Nowadays? No. Would you buy a pair of shoes without trying them on first? Premartial sex rocks.

What is your view of pseudo-marriages (e.g. cohabitation, experimental marriage)? They are what they are. Nothing more, nothing less.

What role, if any, should the state play in protecting, encouraging, or supporting marriage and childbearing? Why?
None. None of these are "state" issues. But, there is talk of State required pre-marriage counseling on the horizon. This intrigues me. On the surface it seems like a good idea.

What role, if any, should the state play in supporting and protecting children born out of wedlock? What's necessary. What we need are tougher deadbeat-dad policies.
