if your just gonna mess around i would do 6x6 72dpi if your not gonna print...if your seriously making a cover then download the template and all the settings are usually preset...300dpi, cmyk and the correct measurements....
jaja ima say the same shit a few years from now.....ima post the cd cover ima mess around wit later.....even tho im not printing do i stil do cmyk and 72 for resolution

500x500 px is the same amount of pixels regardless of what the dpi is set to.....
prodigy1.....id say even if your practicing then why not practice on the real template and working in cmyk? especially if you plan on ever designing something to be professionally printed....might as well get the hang of working within the specifics of real print jobs like high resolution pictures, trims & bleeds....it can all be somewhat confusing at 1st so you might as well start learning from your mistakes now rather than on your clients work....
yeah thats what i do to.....but i make it 5.25 x 5.25 and set marks at .25 & 5 vertical and .25 & 5 horizontal to make my own bleed area and keep all text and important shit i want seen within the marks....
no im telling you that the dpi doesnt matter when you set the size up by pixels instead of inches...lol...500px x 500px is the same regardless...dpi is only for when you setting up size with inches therefore you need to assign how many pixels per inch....
