shit, I got a 450 mhz too...

Rollercoaster Tycoon is good, that shit will play on ANY comp.

The Sims works on my comp fine...

I use my NES emulator more than I play pc games tho. Hit me up on PM if you want to look into getting one of those.

~500 mhz or below will run Halflife 1 very, very slowly, I can remember pretty clearly what kind of system specs were wanted around the time it was released

Quake 1 is a good choice, plus its an absolute classic, both single player and multiplayer if you go that route. Duke Nukem 3D is really old and will run perfect and that game kicked ass. Shit, you could probably even play Doom 2 and have fun if you played it back in the day and want some memories from the past. Try Rise of the Triad too, it was a fun underground, old school FPS.

Depending on what kind of video card you have you could probably run Quake 2/3, my last computer was a 500mhz Celeron (which is most likely slower than a 450 P3) with 96mb of ram and I played Quake 2/3 all the time. I did have shitty 64mb GeForce 2 video though. But yeah Age of Empires 2 is good shit, StarCraft is good shit, and Diablo 2.
