Hunter Finds Nearly $1 Million in Weed, Turns It In | High Times
Every stoner dreams of the day when he discovers a fat crop of deep-woods Kush in the middle of nowhere.
Unfortunately, it is always the straight-laced citizens that win these types of herbal lotteries -- not the cannabis connoisseurs. The added travesty is that these events typically create major marijuana droughts for about a 200-mile radius.
This will undoubtedly be the case for potheads living anywhere near Creek County, Oklahoma. That’s because authorities say that over the weekend, a hunter discovered nearly $1 million worth of marijuana growing near a wooded area somewhere off State Highway 33. Of course, instead of just enjoying a jackpot of free weed, the hunter put in a call to the local Sheriff’s department.
When deputies, along with wildlife officials, arrived on the scene, they saw a man running away from the crop, but they were unable to catch up to him for questioning. They did manage to gain control of a substantial amount of marijuana -- valued at around $810,000.
Unfortunately, and this is where the story takes a sad turn, authorities doused the plants in diesel fuel and watched as the entire harvest went up in smoke. Rumor has it that echoes of a man screaming, “You bastards!” could be heard throughout the woods (not really)
