As much as, it important to have tradition be upheld...the thought of these great earthly giants are decreasing in numbers...nor have a complete understanding of their growth periods and possible diet we may never see whales again.

It the age of information...tradition must learn what was once ok before have changed, especially in the knowledge of scientific discover for the future of our own existence to what evolved around us....we were evolving along side these magnificent animals...I feel they are like part of our clan, like a dogs and cats.... We may find that we may all need a small amount of their dna to survive...so for now i would suggest no whaling to answers what we are all looking for.

If things would have been left the way they were the Indians wouldnt even be asking if they could do, what they have traditionally done for centuries. I find questions like this aggravating as, if we hasnt gone and decreased the numbers in the first place, this wouldnt even be a topic. Its almost like saying, hey let me come over to your house, eat all your food, break all your appliances, then punish you for trying to go back to normal.... meh this is a horrible post on my part, too late for me.

I was against it at first, but then I took the time to read an article on it:

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EPF/is_n8_v98/ai_21259955/

I'm only going to copy and paste the most important part of the article, if you want to read the whole thing you can just click the link:

"Opponents also fear that the Makah's hunt could lead to whaling by other tribes for cultural purposes and could eventually lead to hunting by other countries, such as Japan and Norway, which have long histories of whaling. If that happens, the gay whale could again be in danger, whaling opponents say."
If these whales really are homosexuals then they deserver to be hunted and die. I'm a gangster.
