The Feenom Circle, which consists of members Rawj, SideBee & Tone, recently released an EP entitled "The Pawn Shop." Listening to this album, it reminds me a lot of The Pharcyde or Souls Of Mischief.
The album started with my favourite track off it, "Frisco Disco" which was recorded live from Club Parody. This is the perfect track to put first on your cd. With me being a first-time listener of the group, once I heard this joint I just had to listen to the rest of it. It really drew me in and I found myself bobbing my head to the beat. I would have loved to been at Club Parody when this track was performed.
The next track is called "F-Sharp." I wasn't really feeling the beat on this joint though. Other than that though, I was feeling the song. The lyrics were spit on-point and each verse got better and better.
"A-Train" is a junt I was really feeling off the album as well. Behind "Frisco Disco," it's my next favourite track. After listening to it and hearing the dark beat which it consists of, it gives me that feeling of waiting for the train on an early morning in San Francisco, the fog is low and you're in one of those moods where you just want to be left alone otherwise you're gonna go off on someone. That's just the feeling I got from it though. Tight song all around.
This self described "Middle Ground Group Of HipHop" is damn tight. I didn't know what to think of them when I got this cd but once I popped it into my cd player, I was instantly hooked. The group flows well together lyrically thoughout the entire album. That I can't complain about. The delivery and content were nice. The production I liked on only about half the songs though. If they had the right production behind them, and put that together with the abilities they have lyrically, no telling what could happen with this group. And for the future, I'd like to hear a full length album from them.
7.5/10
