For those of you that have never heard of Kontac hit up www.beatsbythebay.com. Just peep the page and you'll see that he's doing a lot for the Bay scene. He's an entrepreneur who's latest venture is an album with his homie Erase-E entitled "They Got Some Shit On Here." The album features Mobb Deep, M.C. Lyte, Poohman, M-Dash, Black C of RBL Posse, Balance, Mistah F.A.B., Littles of QB Finest & more while production was handled by Cholly J, Tatem 1, Mo Love, Kenny M & more. The production is tight on here and they've even thrown in a couple mainstream beats.

The album starts off strong. M-Dash (one half of Natural Born Dankstas & CEO of Platinum Bound Entertianment) does the Intro. I've been feelin M-Dash for awhile now. In fact, all of PBE I been feelin. Mo Love drops a vicious beat, something to smoke to. It's a good way to start the album.

I haven't heard anything from MC Lyte in a real long time so it was nice to hear her on the joint "B.K. To Da Bay." She's a feature that you don't see everyday as well. Kontac & Erase-E definately had something up their sleeve when they got her on the track. She comes hard and the collaboration between them is really good. All three come with dope verses and Cholly J (who produced nine tracks on the album) drops a bangin beat.

"Holla @ Cha Boy" is the only track on here produced by Tatem 1. It features Mistah F.A.B., Seam, Monic 1 of Certified Ryders & Balance. Tatem1 drops a bangin ass beat on this track. It's a bouncy beat and I could definately see this one gettin folx on the dance floor at the club. Tight verses throughout thsi one as well, they all seemed to blend nicely together. I've never heard anything from Seam before but he definately came tight on this track.

"Spare None" is probably my favourite track on this album. It features Dub aka Double A and was produced by Kenny M. The beats uptempo, definately a battle beat. And that's exactly what it's used for here. This track's aimed at all the fake cats in the Bay Area that are flooding the market and releasing bullshit albums. This track is telling those cats that Kontac & Erase-E are here and only working with the real cats so don't even try gettin at them. I ain't from the Bay but I've heard about it and it's indie scene, this track is real talk!

The last track on this album is entitled "Necessary Ruffness" featuring Dutch, Bandana & K-5 The Natural. It's produced by Cholly J. The track speaks on the subject of Camron stealing Bay Area slang and not giving them props. I'm talking about the track "Oh Boy," slang that E-40 started years ago. All I'm going to say is that this is a dope track and one that folx should peep themselves.

The Bay version of "Boyz N Tha Hood" I was really diggin. The same with "This Iz Richmond" featuring Slick, Lil' Larry, Mel Linium & Brimstone and also Crime Spree with Black C, Dub & J-Slim. I honestly can't say that their was one full song that I didn't like. It was more like a verse here and a verse their or a beat here.

Overall, this was a hott album. But it's more than just that, it's a statement. A statement made loud and clear by Kontac & Erase-E. They touched on several subjects on this album, some more obvious than others, but all needing to be spoken on. I can definately see these cats making a difference in the Bay.
