I don't know how it got started, but on my way to work today, I noticed that almost everyone is controlled by the dollar bill.
People work primarily for money. Some are barely making it by with the little they earn. Others tend to earn more and spend it on meaningless things. The greedy even work two jobs to have "nicer," meaningless things.
If I were an artist, I would draw my vision, but since I am not an artist, I'll expalin it. My work of art has laughing Caucasian males on top of tall buildings throwing dollar bills that are floating in the air while the people (who look like zombies) desperately try to grab the money being thrown. The tall buldings and laughing Caucasian males would represent large corporations. The zombies would represent the people, who are mislead to think that money and "nice" things are really important in life, and need to be "woken" up.
I know this is the way the system works, but don't fall into the trap. If you're gonna work, work, but do something productive in your life. Motherfuckers spend 20, 30, and 40 years going through a go to work, go home cycle. What's the point in their life? They might as well kill themselves 'cause they ain't doing shit. I know they got kids and shit, but their kids will fall victims to this cycle, too.
Please reply with opinions, thoughts, questions, or anything, it'll be appreciated wether it's good or "bad."

(I ended this so quick because there's a lot more shit I want to address. I would like to exchange comments, then proceed. Take it one step at a time rather than just slapping everything on here at once.)

And what is your proposal to keep people out of this cycle? People need to pay the bills somehow and there aint no other way to do that w/o gettin a 9 to 5er. Unless you sell dope or sumthin but I'd rather bust a 9 ta 5 then fuck with that.

I agree with the thought that motherfuckers spend 20, 30 years with the work from 9 ta 5 then go home cycle. But think about it, they do it because they gotta pay BILLS, and when bills don't get paid, ya left with lotta choices, ya home's taken away, everything ya work for gets gone if ya can't come up wit tha cash. All I gotta say is to those who may someday get a 9 ta 5 or whatever time it takes to make ends meet, make sure ya have somethin to fall back on if ya wanna quit whatcha currently doin; me personally, when I have a career, when I ain't in a office thru the week, I'll unwind and break from that by hittin a studio and droppin some rhymes and recording 'cause emceeing is a first love for me and a backup plan to if my career move don't go well.

At some point, as we mature, we all come to this realization. Then comes the next part, perhaps even more important that the initial awakening. What to do to keep ourselves vital, to become more than the 9-5 zombie? Understanding that the 9-5 is only a part of what we do, not necessarily who we are, is also very important. Plus if U like your job, it doesn't look so bleak.

Perhaps a society based on reciprocity would be better.

You guys ever see that U.S. flag where the stars are replaced by company logos? I think I have come to fully understand that.
"Corporate America" will do anything in order to get money. They'll pollute the air, chop down forests, and use people as "slaves." That means they're willing to put your health (or life) in danger, get rid of everything that's natural, and take advantage of people by paying less and making them work hard... all for money. Maybe this is why poverty is ignored... the government pays more attention to the money being brought in (by "taxes") than the problems that exist. They live in luxury (not poverty), so why even bother? It's not like they're the ones doing the suffering. Fixing that problem won't bring monetary benefit either, so leave it alone.
Look around you. Almost every lifestyle, hobby, and sport has been exploited. Hip-hop culture is being commercialized and exploited as you read. The "I work in an office and drive an SUV or BMW" lifestyle is the same; just check the commercials on your television. "Pop culture" is definetely commercial. If a totally new culture pops up, you can believe "Corporate America" will find a way to profit from it.
You say I'm crazy, or wrong? You can't walk one block without seeing some kind of advertizement, logo, or brand name. They even find ways to manipulate people into their product even thought some don't see it. In in hip-hop culture these days, the "cool" thing for males to do is to dress in expensive clothes, drive nice cars, and wear "ice." They are even pressured to do so because females don't like "scrubs." And who sells the jewelry you buy? Who sells the cars and accesories you own? Who profits from the clothing you wear? You're only making them more powerful... you're even advertizing them with that humongous logo in the middle of your chest. Who's the real "pimps"?
A big influence in this is the music. These corporations (and the government) control the media. If something won't make money or is too liberal, they won't allow it. If something will bring profit (no matter how bad they're hurting the culture), they'll allow it. The stuff they don't play on television or the radio is what that culture is really supposed to be like, yet it gets no attention due to its artificial version that brings money.
People have to wake up and start seeing these things. My question is: When?
