I'm from Detroit and I always felt that L.A./southern California artists cds sound better when the summer 1st jumps off. The 1st listen of his cd I thought it was just ok but since the weather is getting warmer and I listen to it it sounds better and better. My question to yall is do you think southern Cali artists should only release they cds in late spring/early summer? Or it doesn't matter? Holla back.

good post.. my opinion it really dont matter to ones fan base when a cd drops just as long as it drops so they can cop it.. but i think sales in general go up around spring n summer due to the fact everybody out and ridin around.. speakers slappin and everybody wants everybody else to hear what they bumpin so they gonna be out gettin the newest slaps..

there just wasn't good promo for the album and it kinda came and went. there wasn't a good buzz built up for it. it's a dope album and there are still a lot of people, real WC fans, who don't even know its out or that he was even working on a new album.

I didn't know it dropped either!

I think you make a great point about west coast artists dropping an album in the summer. Also, I think the name "return of the Barracuda" isn't appealing. Most people don't even know what a barracuda is. Similar to Big Boi and his song "shutterbug"... most people don't know what that is and it hurts the record sales. I remember seeing Keak Da Sneak's album "Deified" and thinking that nobody is going to know what the hell that is... hell I still don't.
