By black do you mean African or just dark skin? Either way, what I can tell you is that he was not white. More like a middle-eastern apperance.

Dark skin dont necessarily mean that he was "black"

Many people from that part of the world, even today are "dark skinned." Alot of Middle Eastern people are naturally just as dark as any African.

If he wasnt black he was middle eastern looking.

Some jew's are hella white now aday's but back then jew's looked more black or middle eastern.

Judgin by ur posts ParkBoyz, Im guessin that u urself are black. Jesus wasnt. I kno he had no nationality (where blood is concerned). But Jesus was born in Bethlehem in the nation of Israel, well within the land of Palestine, to a Jewish descent. That pic u brought to the table...Looks like a man from Palestine to me.

Jesus wasnt African descent nor was he born in Africa. I believed he lived in the north eastern part of Africa (Egypt @ the time) for a short time of his life.

We could upload pics of Jesus that have been pulled out of context all day.

If you consider "semite" or "semetic" as a group of people who speak a specific language or dialect he would be a semite or semetic due to speaking aramaic, hebrew or arabic. If you consider semite or semetic to be a blood line/race/people/ethnicity that trace from Shem he would be a semite. While genealogy records show he does have some connection to Ham, the genealogy presented in Luke traces to Shem, while the one in Matthew stops at Abraham. So did he have Afrikan blood in his veins? YES. Look at some of the names in the genealogies presented and you'll find several, but does that make him "black?" Define "black" and I can give you my opinion. :)

Naw, you're right Heresy, don't know what I was tripping on, thought Jesus was a son of Canaan.. Read up on it though and found out that he indeed does have a mixture of Hamitic blood though since his ancestors spent so much time in Egypt and Babylon. And I define black as anyone with a swarthy complexion who can ultimately trace his/her ethnic roots back to Africa.. I just know that he wasn't white..
