Although "Wannabes" the original motion picture is a Southern California based film, I was the Editor and Co-Producer on the film and I'm a Northwest based film maker...lol so let me bask in my first feature film being released into stores and the entire northwest can be confident in knowing no matter where film making takes me I will always represent the Northwest and do everything in my power to bring exposure to a region I love......now that thats out of the way...lol this film is available in FYE, best buy, amazon.com, barnes and nobles, and I'm waiting to hear which other stores as well. The film was distributed by Thump/Universal.
Here is a link to the low resolution trailer for the film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMSGAWcLtI8 and I will be posting a short synopsis for it tomorrow. O yea and the cover was designed by the Northwest's own third eye dezines

Wannabes Synopsis:
Rap star hopefuls Money (Actor, Director, & Producer Peter Ramirez), Smash (Rap artist Playa Rae), and Lucky (Rap artist Young Cap) find themselves in a heap of trouble when they steal another Chicano rap group's song and record it as their own and win a contest at a local radio station. The group is lead by G-Man (Played by Noel G. who has had memorable roles in such hits as Training Day, Bruce Almighty, Fast And The Furious, SWAT) and is backed by Loco (vinni Mesa) and Chicano hip-hop star Queenie as himself. Rap star Guerilla Black also makes a special appearance as one the gangs homies.
When they win the contest, mayhem ensues as the "not-so dynamic trio" is chased all over town by the "real" gangster rap group who owns the song as they are pumped up by their slick talking manager Ray (Ismael Vidrio). The movie is backed up by an explosive hip hop soundtrack.

Thanks fam that's whats up. You making me wanna shoot movie now. Maybe next year. Hope this sells a lot. I think it will do good. So I know this is independent and shit. But if this moved 10 thousand units will you be eating pretty good? How many divd's do you have to sell in order to eat good? Do you guys have distributor for this movie? Is regional, coastal or national. Sorry for all the questions I’m just real curious on the film game. Cuz I’m seriously think about shooting a movie sometime in the next 2 years.

i can definitely take u through the process of making films fam...i have a degree in film production as well as having produced another film besides this one and I am in the process of developing a couple short films as well as a full feature....the film was distributed by thump/universal and as far as sales go we definitely have goals we have to hit in order to get bonuses as well as pay back expenses accrued (co-op programs, shipping, marketing etc.) the film itself was shot for a very low budget so getting our money back on that end is very feasible, and because its a straight to dvd release we are expecting to do 20-30 k in sales although with most straight to dvd indie releases there are always the run away projects that do 100 k...we should definitely sit down in the near future and I will break things down a lil more clearer for u
