Anyone have one of these? I hear good things about them, especially for their price. I'm just very hesitant about a non name brand piece of equipment.. especially a major purchase like a 37" LCD.
For those familiar with vizio, how is the picture compared to name brand tvs? is the resolution not as good? do they break down a lot?

i have a 37" vizio lcd tv...i have absolutely no complaints. it's made by phillips, or magnavox or some other namebrand company. every store i talked to when i was shopping around reccomended the vizios. the picture and sound are pretty damn good, plus i only dropped $900 for it.

Not that bad, but definitely not that good. Colors aren't as bright, blacks aren't as dark, grainy during a lot of motion.

Yes.

What's the price of it? How much you looking to spend?

They sell like hotcakes for the price that there at. Costco sells them like crazy, you can get a 50inch plasma for $1400. It's made by a local guy from Irvine, Ca. and it's headquartered in Costa Mesa, Ca. It does the job and I haven't seen anything wrong with it for the price you pay other than what Tony stated. The contrast ratio of a 32" is 1200:1.

I wouldnt consider vizio a non name brand. Afterall, they actually have comercials on tv, unlike, daewoo, sylvania, insignia, and several others that suck balls.

Buy it. Don't be sucha pussy. lol juss playin I know how you feeling. Buyers remorse is the worse.

i got a 32 inch vizio lcd from costco, and the picture quality is great. I haven't experienced any problems with it so far. I say its a good buy, because you can get that tv for a lot cheaper than any other 37 inch lcds and I think the picture looks just as a good as some of the other big name brands out there. The only thing i don't really like about the tv is the sound. I think it could be better, but I got speakers hooked up to mine, so it dun really no more hah.

I know you have experience with audio, so you should know that tv's are the same. You get what you pay for. Try and get a Samsung or Sharp. I don't have any links for deals right now, but search around. The Sharp LCXXD62U series should drop in price real soon because the new LCXXD82U series just came out. The XX in the model indicates the size, so the 37" would be LC37D62U. Lowest price on Pricegrabber shipped to me is $1229 http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__Sharp_LC37D62U_37_LCD_TV,__34426523

I was hoping you weren't gonna say that.
I'll just have to sacrifice quantity for quality...

buy it. we haven absolutlely no regrets, have not had a single problem with the 41 er 42 inch we have right now, got it at christmas time for 11 or 12 hundred and no regrets. very good quality picture sound for the price you are paying. obviously if you got money to spend step up the brand name chain but if your cost is on your mind, no doubts buy it.
