What y'all think about someone who was born male, who is now trnsgendered female and wants to compete in women's boxing.
I take the Joe Rogan approach - they can fight women only if other women want to fight them and are fully aware they were men. I don't think they should compete on a championship level.
And if they hide that shit and beat up a woman they should be banned from the sport and arrested for assault. There is obviously a massive difference in the strength of men vs women and someone who is born male and transitioned female had their entire life of testosterone pumping through their bodies- their bone density, body frame, muscles, everything is different.
Like there was that Fallon Fox MMA fighter a few years back who came out as transgender after she already beat a couple women. That's fucked up. The opponents didn't know she was a post-op man. One of the opponents Tamikka Brent's suffered a concussion, an orbital bone fracture, and required seven staples to the head. After the fight she said, “I've fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because she was born a man or not because I’m not a doctor. I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right,” she stated. “Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn’t move at all in Fox’s clinch…”
There is a reason we don't see post-op female-to-male fighters fighting against men in boxing or MMA - they would get destroyed. Sure, the hormone replacement therapy will help them gain muscle, become more manly, but it still doesn't compare to someone who was born a man and naturally had testosterone pumping through their bodies for the entire lives and have the different bone density and structure.
Now, if Fallon Fox wants to continue to fight women and this women are ok with fighting her, cool, go for it. But if any woman doesn't want to fight her they have that right to decline and I don't believe Fox or anyone else in the same boat should be able to compete for the world title or enter into rankings. Does that suck for her? Sure, but that's part of the deal - you want to become a woman that's perfectly fine and her right to do so but the world can't and should not bend backwards for you and pretend she was a girl her whole life and not a boy because that's simply not reality. Somethings in life aren't fair, in this case they were born the wrong sex, but you know what? Some people were born with ugly faces and will never be models, so like them not everyone can become a UFC or Boxing Champion. That's just the way life goes, you gotta play the cardz that were delt to you.
