Man, I think this was Fight Of the Year. Marquez/Vazquez III was great and all, but this fight just felt so much bigger. Best fight of 2008 imo

I agree. FOY for sure. Cotto really fought a brilliant fight, but I think his will was broken after hitting Tony with everything but the stool in there and not slowing him down one bit.

I think Cotto's downfall was trying to stand and trade, instead of circling and using his jab to keep Tony from getting his feet set. He did this great for the first half of the fight and dominated.

But like I said...I think maybe he was shocked that none of those monster counters & lefts did any damage...and maybe that did something to his confidence.

it just might be a wrap for Cotto. the man hasnt even made a public announcement about the fight. his ego is gettin in the way.

why isnt anyone praising Margarito's excellent inside work? Cotto cracked the way most KO artists do when they come against that 1 mf that isnt bothered by their power, look at Cintron! I mean its almost symbolic the way both fighters (Cotto And Cintron) started that duck down defense cuz they didnt know what else to do
