I'm sure someone in this forum knows something about video editing. I'm looking for a program for Windows that will enable me to do some quailty video editing. I need something with effects, split screen capibilty, etc. I know about Final Cut, but that is Mac based and not available for Windows, and Premiere doesn't do what I'm looking for. Anyone know of anything I could look into?

Premiere. it has "split screen capibility" you just have to learn how to do it, a real program for motion effects/graphics is after effects but you should have a basic knowledge of premiere or final cut before even trying to learn key frames and 3d shit with AE

I've been using Premiere for some years now, so I'm pretty fimiliar with it. But the split screen thing I found in it would only display the area of the clip of which you want to place that clip. I'm still using 6.0, this might be why I haven't found anything more usefull than that, not sure if there have been additions as far as things like this added to the later versions or not.

i only use 6 too, if you been editing for years, your still trying to do split screen effects? if youve been editing for awhile then you should of already moved up to after effects, premiere is just for putting videos together its not meant for titles, effects, transitions. you need ae for that

Okay. I get what you're saying. I never got into After Effects, mainly due to lack of funds. But I came across Ulead VideoStudio 11, and it seems like a pretty good program so far, pretty cheap too ($99).
