If you got any tricks on how to do the vector style leave it here ...
Im just trying to get into it but I dont really know how to start. I line out the charakter with the pen tool, then ad a border around the whole person and after that ... whats the best next steps?
i dont even outline the person.. i just do the front most piece of the picture first. and work every peice underneath it.. shadows andshit are important and sometimes need hella layers and shades
It all depends on the style of the " vector " that you do. Some people do so many damn layers that it doesnt even look anything different from a real photo which is kind of lame and looks like a filtered pic. Check out vexels.net for some examples of what I'm talking about. Now myself I like to add airbrush effects and gradients to my " vector style " illustrations as well as black outlines. I start out with pen tool, and do all outlines and black spots with the tool first. Then after I do a base colour and add layers of other colors from there. Check out UCARTS, he's got a unique style and a great eye for colours.
What I always wanted to know ... if I use a normal brush and then click the option "airbrush" to it (that lil button at the top) what is the difference? I dont see it?
This is what I am working on right now. I just finished the T-Shirt, what do you think about the shadows on the shirt do it look good or should I change it in some way? Im going to start on the face now and as soon I got more to show I post it up.
Damn I have a lot of problems with the face. Its like I just dont know how to start, I give all a basic color and then I start with the hair but it just doesnt look right, also I dont really know how to do the mouth.
Edit: Can anybody show me how he would do the eyes, mouth and eyebrows on this one? Here is the original pic:
I know but since I never really worked with Illustrator I thought I might just start with Photoshop and get used to some knowledge on how it should look and take it from there and use that knowledge and transfer it to Illustrator. I also know Macromedia Freehand and tryed it with that, if you heard / know that program, but its also pretty much standart for vector graphics.
But well, Im going to finish this one off in Photoshop and see how it comes out might take a few more days since Im doing it on the side. What you think so far how its coming? The T-Shirt and the neck is pretty much done on this one.
It is, and Photoshop that stuff isn't really a real vector, it just got that look. Im working on the face right now, just finished the area around the mouth, I will get you an update tomorrow or on the weekend.
Yes sir. I started a couple of times but closed it after a few minutes haha. I got most Adobe programs, most of the time I use Photoshop, Premiere (Video editing program - working on a documentary) and InDesign (for magazine layouts).
