i've been wondering about the LA underground too for a long time.
but vamps once said that LA doesn't have this big independent underground scene the bay has because it's a company town and everybody and their momma is trying to go major on the first chance.

u got the Project Blowdians.....they have albums...but its hard to find them....cuz theyre real underground...most of their cds are misnamed and burned...and theyre not bootleggs...the artists sell them....but u can download their shit....look for project blowed, c.v.e., freestyle fellowship(they got albums out that can be found), a team, p.e.a.c.e., rifleman, eastside bastards, of mexican decent, 2 mex and so many more.....

Don't forget anything coming out of Area 51.
And LA does have a big underground scene. I think LA has one of the largets and best underground scenes in the US. ]
Project Blowed is tight in my opinion..

Check out some of these local LA underground Acts:
Outskirts, Dirty Unit, Traveling Circus, Otherwise, Triune, Phaze Roc, and don't forget... Real Skillz, MC Random, and KNVRS.

And hit up Sessions every Sunday Night at The Echo.

Tonight:

Phil Da Agony, resident DJs C-Los, GabeReal, and Mark Luv.
We've already had Pete Rock, Mykill Meirs, Talib Kweli, DJ Babu, LMNO, OMD, Burning Star, and most of the Living Legends including Scarubs record release.

but are there underground rappers coming with that street style of rap like in the bay?

We used to have a huge underground scene here. I don't really pay attention to newer rap cuz it sucks but here's a list of some really overlooked L.A. gangsta/street rappers, some that still rap, some that don't.

B.I.B.
BG Knocc Out
Black 9
Black Knights (part of Wu-Tang but from compton & long beach)
Blak Czer
Boss
C.E.B.
Coolio Da Unda Dogg (yes he IS from Watts, not the bay)
CPO
Dazzie Dee
DBA Flip
Delinquent Habits
Duce Duce
Fo Clips
Gangsta
Gonzoe
Green Eyez
Hi-C
I Smooth 7
Insane Poetry (gangsta/horror rappers)
Juvenile Committee
Kam
Kausion
Keitarock
Killafornia Organization
King Tee
Kokane
L.A. Mack
L.B.C. Crew
Lethal
Lil 1/2 Dead
Lil Chill
Lil Rachett
Lime Block
Loon-E-Toon
Menace Clan
Mr. Money Loc
Mr. Short Khop
Murdersquad
OFTB
Penthouse Players Clique
Perfec
Poppa LQ
Road Dawgs
Set Tripp
Sinister
STR8-G
Swoop G
The Body Snatchaz
The Relativez
True Blue Niggas Off The Street
Volume 10
Watts Gangstas
Young Dre
Young Murder Squad

Every rapper/group I listed comes with heat. That's whats different between L.A. and the bay. You might have hundreds of different rappers droppin' cds every year but how many of those are actually worth listening to? Quality not quantity. I'm not saying that the bay is weak because some of my favorite cds are by rappers from the bay but the market up there is saturated with garbage.
