ITS MORE THAN NORTENOS PICCIN UP THE HUELGA AS A SYMBOL....MANY NORTENOS COME FROM FAMILIES WITH CLOSE TIES TO THE UFW.........IM NOT A NORTENO BUT I DO SUPPORT THE UFW AND THE RIGHTS FOR THESE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN ALL INDUSTRIES TO HAVE HEALTH CARE AND PROPER PAYMENT......

i doubt UFW would recongize norteños, and to top it off where i lived the majority of the farm workers were or had sureños in there families

I doubt UFW would associate or endorse any gang activity. They are in the business of organizing people with jobs.

I went to a UFW rally once, though, and I saw more red flags and huelga birds, etc., than I've ever seen in my life. Everyone was decked out in red...a Norteno could probly stroll through and they'd show him love...thinking he was part of the cause. And if youa sk some Nortenos, they say they are.
