With the official release of the highly anticipated "UFC 2009 Undisputed" still over four weeks away, gaming enthusiasts will soon have an appetizer in hand to help hold them over for the main course.
A playable demo of the game will be available for free download on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on April 23 according to a recent announcement on the game's official website.
IGN.com reports that Chuck Liddell and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will be the two characters available for use on the demo, and that a full tutorial for the controls will also be included.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) had been informed that the demo for "UFC 2009 Undisputed" would be available for download this week. But following a hands-on session with the game in the U.K., developers THQ announced the date would be pushed back.
More than 80 fighters will appear in the debut version of "UFC Undisputed," which is part of a multi-year deal between the UFC and THQ.
The highly anticipated title will be the most realistic MMA video game ever developed, according to THQ. A new video release, outlining the game's clinch system, is embedded in this post.
As we previously reported, former UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin is featured on the cover of the U.S. version of the game, and UFC welterweight title-holder Georges St. Pierre graces the Canadian version.
