Talk about supporting a rival.

UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel has agreed to sacrifice a first half time out against USC on Saturday in support of bringing back the tradition of both teams playing the rivalry game in their home jerseys.

The Trojans will be docked a time out, per NCAA rules, for playing in their cardinal home jerseys. The NCAA dictates that visiting teams wear white.

It was originally thought coach Pete Carroll's decision to wear the dark jerseys would cost his team a time out in each half but the rule was clarified to the Pac-10 Tuesday.

The Pac-10 also announced that it intends to again request the Football Rules Committee at its next meeting to eliminate the portion that says one team must wear white and simply have the rule state that the teams must wear jerseys of contrasting colors.

Originally, Pete Caroll said he would give up two TO's to wear their home jerseys. This was a tradition back in the day, where both teams would wear their home jerseys and it appears that they BOTH want that tradition to be re-instated.

As of now, the NCAA rules prohibit two teams wearing colors.
