We knew we wanted to do a track with Tech N9ne, Potluck and Big Krizz
Kalico, but at first didn't even think about combining all of them
together on a track. We originally had plans of doing a track with Tech
called "Lucifer's Lady"
and another track with PotLuck called "Nice Dreams" loosely based on
the Cheech and Chong movie of the same name.
We wanted to do a rock track with Krizz cause he be rocking on all
levels of the game.
Everyone basically said they were down and send the tracks whenever
we're ready, so we knew they were all on board for the project. We
sorted and sorted through so many beats looking for the right feel or
groove for these songs to no avail. Finally, after going through an
entire spindle of discs with 30 beats each on 'em, Monoxide put in the
last cd. It was from Seven, it only had 3 beats on it and the first one
we listened to had this eerie feel to it. Paul said "that's the
shit.....it kinda sounds morbid... don't it?.... some bury em all kinda shit!"
Just then the good ol' hamster wheel began to turn in my head, and
ideas started to smash together like pieces of chewed
bubble gum becoming one big mass. I suggested we call the song
cemetery walk" and feature all those guys on the same track,
"could you imagine how fresh it would be to hear PotLuck, Tech N9ne,
Krizz Kalico, and Twiztid all on an eerie ass track together?"
Aside from saying "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday Monster
Truck RRRRally" Monoxide was sold, but he didn't like the title at all.
"I know where you're going with it, but that name isn't right" Paul said
and I responded "ok, I hear that.... I was just vibing on what you said
when you heard the beat : that bury em' all type shit" ..... Swivel's
eyes light up like a Christmas tree and pointed his finger in the air
like Sabu and said "then let's call it (bury em' all), done deal. The
packages then went out the next morning to Strange Music: attention
Tech & Krizz, and Suburban Noise Records: attention UnderRated & 1
Ton for official (bury em' all) track. When we got them back everybody
held their own, and the song was amazing! The shit that Krizz layed on
the break put the song over the top... it was eerie and beautiful like a
zombie Frank Sinatra song..... ooohhhh it gave me goose bumps first
time I heard it. Still does! Tech's flows are always on point like a
pencil, and this time was no exception. PotLuck schooled it as well,
flipping flows and rockin' it. The outcome of the song was destined to
be great, it was, and is everything we expected it to be.
Till next time.
