Turf Grindaz News Updates

It has been a crazy two months, Turf Grindaz has hit the streets and the internet hard. We are definitely grindin’ it out. Let me fill you in on what we have been up to as of lately.

The group Turf Grindaz has been performing up in the Everett area at a club called El Mirador every Thursday night. We are currently seeking out new venues for shows, so please feel free to check us out @ www.turfgrindaz.com for booking, interviews, MixCd./Radio Drops.

We are also in the process of recording a TV spot for ESPN, we will keep you posted on that as well.

Thanks to our Norway potna Big Ice of Da Playboy Foundation, we our featured on his new double album “Big Ice of Da Playboy Foundation Stackin’ Beats”. For those who do not know, Big Ice is a certified gold producer who has provided tracks for such artists as JT of N2Deep, Baby Bash (Universal), A-Wax (Konvict Muzik), Cool Nutz (Jus Family/Sick Wid It Records) & Frost; just to name a few. Big Ice’s “Stackin Beats” project is a double album containing both Norwegian artists as well as U.S. artists. It is a must have album, so please make sure to check it out by logging onto www.myspace.com/bigiceofdaplayboyfoundation. Also our single “Summertime In Tha S.E.A.” is receiving radio play in Norway. The radio station is NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation), and the channel is P3, the show is called National Rap Show. Big ups to Big Ice for making that happen and helping us create a great Seattle song.

In other Turf Grindaz news, we have partnered with Jones Soda Company to produce a limited supply of Turf Grindaz Soda as a tool to help cross promote our products to the masses. We will be showcasing our soda at festivals and shows in the Washington area as well as the internet. We would like to Thank Zack Carr @ Jones Soda Company for this amazing and unique opportunity.

Also we are currently in the process of recording a MixCD with KeeK Loc (Sea-Sick/Block Teamsters Union), Gene Dexter (Crazy Pinoy.com and DJ B-Mello (KUBE 93/CORE DJS/SHADYVILLE DJS) called “Commanderz & Chiefs” , also featuring Washinton’s biggest hip hop group the Parker Brothaz. We are currently looking for corporate sponsorship as well for this project. We will be manufacturing 3,000 copies and it will be given away for free through out the Washington Area. For more information, please contact Gene Dexter @ (206) 604-1276.

Here are some quotes from Music Industry Insiders about the Turf Grindaz album, “Poundin’ Tha Pavement”:

“The Turf Grindaz album sounds like it has the potential to do some real major things, it's not one of those projects that is just built for one area to listen to. Every track that I've heard off that Turf Grindaz is official. I like that “Summertime in Tha Sea“, it's a cool laidback beat and the dude singing on the hook is real dope. I think that everyone down in the Bay will love that “Dummy 4 Tha Money” track. You'll definitely be able to push this album to multiple markets.”

“The Turf Grindaz album is a nice break from hearing the same ol topics/style that everyone else is trying to emulate at this time. Don't get me wrong, it's not about knowledge or battle lyrics either. It's more about hustlin' and pounding the pavement as the album title says. Right now I think the music game needs that. I loved their choice of production, topics, and appearances. I have been following both artists Cinatra and Brent OG for awhile and this album is by far their best. They have found a style that they are comfortable with and their are having fun with it. One song sounded a little to close to NW neighbor E-40's style, but sometimes that can be expected when creating that MOB sound. What? Return of the original Bay MOB sound? What would you expect? Check out the list of producers on this album, better yet, don't take my word for it. CHECK OUT THE ALBUM!”
