yall niggas dont buy albums. you dont deserve for people to continue putting out albums.

i hope music dies becuase of piracy.

fuck greedy ass music fans. it will come back to bite you.

i dont say that cuz my moneys gettin fucked with i see it second hand. so fuck people who complain you dont do shit to change anything. but pirate music. and then give a fuckin' review so more niggas pirate it.

forget it, fuck what you want. i can understand that. id put out music for myself. this game is stupid.

you might make a lil money but 10,000 aint shit

i wouldnt sell a album to anyone i didnt know just like dope right now

i think the crack game in 2009 might still be more lucrative
you expect for people to make music underneath these terms...you got it fucked up...your asking for more than you contribute to keep it moving

i wouldnt rap either..better fuckin shit a nigga could be doin besides goin to the studio for you to download it

cant argue with you on that one, i dont fall in that category tho i got the official cds of every sd artist i bought, i burn mainstream shit, hell i aint gonna lie, i even burn la and bay shit.

but really, does album sells dictate whether record companies wants to fuck with you, or is it your album. game and jayo are perfect examples, they didnt sell 2 million records to det signed to def jam and g unit.

i look at the south, all them niggas did some grindin teamwork shit[slim thug, paul wall, chamil, flip] list goes on, those niggas was underground for a minute and got they shit BOOTLEGGED out the ass but still managed to make it out of th eunderground, so what does sd lack, hmmm

i think west coast just got a bad look, not even for gangbanging, look at our forefathers, all though they were heavy hitters, how many of them DIDNT turn against their label and diss everyone on it, i think labels see w/c artist as too risky

but see the thing is this, the south supports their artists. we dont.

everyone in cash money was going gold before a major deal. and thats why they got the deal that they got, and thats why cash money is where they are now.

if you havent lived in the south or spent time there, have no say about what they do or support. cuz you really gotta be in they perspective to understand it.\

check the numbers if you need to, new orleans supported cash money and no limit. local music in new orleans surpassed all other record sales. does san diego do that for san diego music? no.

so dont site the south, because back in the days yall thought the south was slow and all they had was them, they used to listen to the west because we was gettin hated on too.. i know you cant remember them days but its true..thought the south used to speak funny..its just that hate coming back out in you..the south deserves they spot cuz they out hustled everyone..if you lived in those conditions it would breed a bigger hustler out of you..niggas dont have computers where they live. do you get what im sayin?'

if you cant survive in this game then bounce its sink or swim right now and if you got a better hustle stick to it..before that hustle ends too

why make music..i wouldnt give a fuck if all rappers quit...theres enough music as it stands for me to listen to till i die...so fuck em...i feel that, go to college get a job and feed your children. you cant keep rappin about gangsta shit forever it eventually subconciously messes with the public...niggas talkin about shooting and robbing but expect people to buy albums, i dont get it

Houston had it's entire own market...Houston Artist made money when downloading was available but not the norm...now all these youngs kids have grown up downloading music..times have changed. They had an establish national fan base..and like homeboy said there own "sound". they were profitable to the labels, so the label wanted there fan base not them and then they went straight back to the underground.

people blow up off marktable singles, then they disappear. wheres the pride in that? it used to be an insult to be called a one hit wonder. now people still think that labels care about the artist as an asset, they just control you as pipeline to your fan base to make them buy shit...no honesty in Hip Hop right now, just people making songs they think other MC's will like...

Country Music Sales are still through the roof....

my fams from the south i already know

yea i was talking about louisiana and i dont think you got my point, i said niggas was bumpin the shit locally before it blew up. houston supported houston before 'sittin sideways' was even a song. lil flip was gettin known in houston waaaaay before he spread out to other states. he was doin alot better w screw and sucka free (even tho hump took all his cash) before he blew up

No Limit and Cash Money created the support the received. They made sure their records were in all the local mom and pop stores. They had presence in neighboring states Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Mississippi. They toured and had product in record stores in all of those markets.

You also have to factor in the fact that there is a larger black population in New Orleans than in San Diego...

im aware of that. im just pointing out the fact that san diego artists dont create the support they receive. they dont do shit but put an album out, which gets downloaded.

even if theres more blacks in NO (san diego is doing well on record sales, and its not blacks) we generally arent going about it the same way out here.

i think thats based on how the south lives, not exactly based on the black people ratio..however that could play a part. i dont think the black population in sd gives a fuck about sd music. they have other options.

for instance i was listening to the south way before i gave a fuck about sd and i could name names all day but thats more i gotta type

and then on some secondary shit who the fuck cares about your or my little 10 dollars we support for buying an album..thats supposed to be a niggas reason to continue putting out music and going to the studio and sitting at home writing rhymes?

people should be happy they get a few albums out of any artist before they wise up

on the grand scale of things this coulda been 'the man' systematically killing all independent music..

you can only do things for the love for so long the way i see it....i wouldnt have an issue with all of sds artists never selling a cd again unless its hand to hand.

i thought it was as well, but it seems like niggas is being self centered and unappreciative of the "lil" group that do support them. i would say the best way to illustrate your gratefulness of the fans that actually bought ur shit, is to keep puttin out records, not ainming to sell 1 mil, but aiming to please your fan

personally if you want my perspective sd niggas need to leave sd and step the OT hustle up. thats the only way anyone in sd will ever become successful. we cant sit in our lil bubble and sell albums and hope they dont get downloaded and expect that cd to just cake. it aint even like that

but alot of these dudes lived in they one lil area forever and dont understand that. the more they got out to different places the more theyd connect and relate with out of towners and have a space somewhere else..people dont do that anymore..the whole 2100 miles in your car to do a show shit..

thats why one day someone might call me and the next im in another city...i try to do whatever i can to reach more than one place..and im not even a rapper..i just understand the power of city-to-city relations..
