Transformers 2: Devastator to Be Almost 120 Feet Tall

Posted on Thursday, February 12th, 2009 at 11:31 pm by: Peter Sciretta

The new issue of Toyfair has an interview with Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who reveals a bunch of new info bits from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Anything from the specs of Devastator to the origins of The Fallen (possible spoiler). You’ve been warned, continue after the jump.

 • Revenge of the Fallen takes Place about one year after the events of the first film.
 • Devastator is almost four times the size of the largest robots from the first film, an estimated 100 - 120 feet tall. Someone on the TWF2005 boards created a size comparison mockup, and if that’s the scale, Devastator is going to be HUGE.
 • And The Fallen’s origins have been confirmed: He is one of the original 13 Transformers. Lorenzo said to think of the 13 as “apostles”. The Falen is the one who caused the Transformers to split into two factions, Autobots and Decepticons.

Sideswipe:

Megatron:

Now, im no math genius...but does Devastater really look "four times the size of the largest robots from the first film"? Looks more like 40 times bigger to me...which would make ZERO sense. Seeing as Devastator is 6 Transformers combined, wouldnt it make him 6X the size of the biggest Trasnformer? Do the vehicles somehow grow in size when they turn to roborts/attach to one another for form Devastator?

Sometimes super fans are morons.

I think that optimus/humans were photoshopped on there. I saw the original release of that picture and it didn't have them.

edit - found it

Don't be surprised if everything I've posted in this thread ends up in the movie. Ransack and Wreckage are the only two I'm unsure of being in the movie.

haha yeah most of them don't look anything like their G1 counterpart but thats weird you don't think soundwave in the movie looks like the G1 version. I think soundwave(besides optimus) looks the most like his G1 version besides not transforming into a cassette player and instead being a cybertronian jet/satellite thing.

Well the Constructicons in the movie are gonna be those big ass vehicles so I can see how the size ratio is like that....

But why they makin Devastator look like that monster from Return of the Jedi tho? LOL

A correction on the Devastator info.

There are two, VERY LARGE constructicon's and five small ones that make Devastator. The one shown in the trailer and a Terex Titan are the two big ones. The onle small one I know of is a forklift.

Well... You can't really expect Soundwave to turn into a cassette in a modern film.. lol
