A “woman” in Australia is going to be the first transsexual to play Women’s Professional Golf. Mianne Bagger says that she is excited about being the first. “It’s a world first. There has never been a transsexual playing in a Professional Women’s Tournament before. It’s a dream for me. I’ve been playing golf since I was 8, but I just turned pro in August so it’s been a long time coming.” Hey, I have heard of people going to extremes to make it as a professional athlete, but this is going a little too far. Chopping off your junk just so you can tee it up with the ladies is a bit much. She says she wanted to get the operation for some time because ‘something wasn’t quite right’. Yeah, I’d say so. She says that while most people are ok with her playing in the tournaments, that there has been some resistance. ‘There are some women that find me hard to accept.” Really?, that’s weird. I would think they would be down.

You roll out to the first tee and crank it 50 yards past everyone because you used to be a dude? Yeah, I can see where they might have a problem with that. The Australian women’s tour says they have no problem with transsexuals. “There is no reason she shouldn’t be able to continue her golf career playing professional tournaments.” If you say so. I just hope this doesn’t spark a trend over here. I would hate for some guy to be bouncing around the mini-tours, and think, ‘you know what? There is no way I can hang with guys like Tiger and Ernie. I just don’t have the game. But I could beat Laura Davies and Annika. I think I go see the doctor tomorrow and see if he can remove my unit so I can play from the red tees.’ That would be a problem…. and even if the golf doesn’t work out for the guy, errr, woman, she could always go be the drummer for Toto or the keyboardist for Lynard Skynard.
