As everyone on here knows they goin outta business and i know a topic was made already, but for everyone who cops cds and dvds. I would suggest going there to cop shit prices are nice. I got the san quinn dvd for like $11-$12. Got 2 dvds for $20 would have gotten more but i didnt know how much they were taking off items. Store closes in December so im prolly gonna go there and raid that place everytime i get paid.

just a suggestion for all.

the stuff there is not that cheap yet. 15% off on a dvd that costs 24.99 is not that much. still go to best buy or target for cheaper prices. When it gets closer to closing, the sales are gonna get super high cause they need to get rid of everything. Tower was the shit though. THey had everything that the other stores did not have

it ain't as much that the internet is killing them, but it's there bad business. they owe records companies millions in unpaid cd sales, they tried selling the company, but were forced to liquidate to pay off their debts to big business.

meaning that if you are an artist with consignment in these stores, you may want to go snatch your sh!t from the stores because you probably won't get paid for you consignment, seeing as how they will keep as much as they can!

lol if they owe you bread go snatch shit off thir shelves period! in a way this is good and bad - the downfall of a major corporation only opens the playing field for smaller competitors and investors looking to get into the game and fill a void. and in theory this is probably good for rasputins as well.

for the record, tower always took forever to pay their consignments and it was a royal pain in the ass to even get your product into their stores, but i'll miss em

tower fucking sucks...they dont sell shit cuz noone wants to pay 18.99 for a cd that you can get at rasputins or ameoba for 12.99

its only 20% off cds right now which still isnt enough and 30% off of dvds

times are changing and the way consumers get their music is changing as well. tower records is closing but other outlets are opening, like itunes and others.

the sale is weak its only 10% off cds and most cds are 14.99 so thats only a $1.50 off.

I believe this to be true, Cd's used to cost $17.99-$20.00 (even went as far as to see $21.99 for a new Cd) and it sucks when you get one or two good songs out of it...what happens next, the consumer seeks a way to get over (download). That answers the question of why these major record store corps. don't have the finance to pay back the money they owe.

Now, the companies sell the new Cd's starting at $9.99, but I believe this was a unsuccessful attempt to get people back in the store & buy the product...the consumer has grown too comfortable & a bit greedy by getting what he/she wants & still keeping that extra $10.00 in his/her pocket.

The companies should have thought of this when they sky-rocket the prices back in the day on Cd's & DVD's. I know a lot of MoFo's sayin' they feel they paid their dues to the record companies by over paying for a stack of whack ass cd's & now sit in a cardboard box in their garage...

Same goes for the movie theaters.
Instead of spending $150.00 (including dinner ect ect...) on a family of 4 on a night out to the movies ($8.99 to $9.00 per person) you can cut that by getting the bootleg movie (4 or 5 bucks) from the dude in the parking lot & a box of movie theater popcorn at the grocery store & take it home. LOL!!!!

...just wait till some MoFo figures out how to make a gas substitute LOL!!!!!
