yeah it was pretty weak year for me overall (outside of that list). honestly I struggled to come up with that many. lol. some other decent albums though like Ariel's Mature Themes, Grizzly Bro's Shields, etc. I listened to a ton of rap this year

8. Sam Flax - Age Waves

7. Holy Other - Held

6. Chromatics - Kill For Love

4. Upside Drown - Mood Music

1. Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland - Black is Beautiful

About the only album I have to add that hasn't been already mentioned is Merchandise - Children of Desire

New Grizzly Bear was probably my fav non rap releated album of the year along with that. Dean Blunt & Inga Copeland and Ariel's newest jawns were great too. I wish Dean and Inga still went by Hype Williams because I found that name hilarious for some reason but they probably would get sued at somepoint.

Been listening to a lot of King Krule lately but I think he only actually released a single this year?

Yeah King Krule just released a single this year and the A side was actually a re-recording of one of his songs he did as zoo kid.

I agree, I bumped a ton of rap this year.

a few favorites came from some of the above mentioned and...

here comes a new challanger
chelsea grin
hearts & hands
memphis may fire
make me famous
we butter the bread with butter

biggest disappointment was the new pig destroyer. new in fear and faith. and the new BTBAM. maybe I haven't given them fair chances. or maybe they've progressed passed me.
