on Too Short's cd release "Greatest Hits: The Player Years 1983-1988", it has his first 3 tapes, but his first tape release was "Dont Stop Rappin" and that came out in 1985. what stuff did he have out in '83 and '84? did he have vinyl releases before the tape releases? i wanna know the first thing he released and when.

Just have to ask the right person!!! He was doing alot of "Special Requests" which nobody seems to have. Around 84 he began dropping his 75 Girls 12"s and the albums began to drop. Go to the "Old Tapes Post" and search real wuick, I posted pixs of all those 12" releases....

yeah i knew you would know, and i already looked through that thread. thats one of the best threads ever. i hope it keeps going. and did Too Short actually drop EPs or albums on vinyl or just singles?

also, i made a thread about RBL Posse's "A Lesson To Be Learned" album and Totally Insane "Direct From The Backstreets", and i thought i heard you talkin about them, the real OGs of them only being released on tape. is that true? kinda like the real OG of The Click only released on tape. that kinda thing.

r8r are you the one who was talking about those RBL Posse and Totally Insane tapes. im pretty sure the realOGs of them were only on tape. is this true?
The tape version from the Ture OG's are different than the ones released on CD and tape later on. For example, Bammer Weed is different than the one on the In-A-Minute records version....

Too $hort (Early Years)

Been rappin since 1980 but as far as pressing shit peep the tapes in my signature. Those were later avail in that cd set through In-A-Minute records (Condom cover) and as recent as 2003 in "its About Time".

thanks for all the info r8r. it seems like you know EVERYTHING about bay area rap.

is there any other differences on the RBL Posse besides a different version of "Dont Give Me No Bammer", like the cover, is the same amount of songs, same year, and what about the Totally Insane "Direct From The Backstreets"? what are the differences there? and do you have the OG tapes?

thanks again, i appreciate it
