"[Randy Moss] lacked the work ethic and the desire to cultivate any skills that would compensate for what he was losing physically later in his career," Walsh said on Sunday.

"He told me last year, 'I'm too old to practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but I'm not too old to play on Sunday,'" Walsh recalled. "Did they start a senior league?"

Moss doesn't actually run the routes mapped out.

Walsh specifically recollected one such incident that occurred in Week 3 of the regular season.

"He runs a 9-[deep go]-route; Andrew Walter was at quarterback. [Walter] makes the play-fake and a huge hole opens up for Randy in the middle of the field, but he's running down the sideline. Walter nearly threw his arm out pulling the ball back. When Randy gets to the sidelines, Freddie Biletnikoff says, 'What were you doing?' Randy told Fred, 'I didn't feel like running the 6-route on the dirt part of the infield.' That's the Randy I coached."

Randy had a lot more to do with our pathetic offense than I thought. This fool wouldn't even practice everyday and then wouldn't even run the right routes half the time.

Shell should have benched him and played Porter. At least Porter wanted to play.

I don't think they're making him out to be the scapegoat... they're just shedding some light on Randy Moss the wide receiver.

I just feel that he is no longer on the team, so they shouldnt even say anything about a player that is no longer with them. If you want to talk about Jerry Porter having a bad year then go ahead and do so. I would feel the same way if Alex Smith said the same thing about Antonio Bryant.

Randy Moss did not want to be in Oakland. Period.

He showed very poor sportsmanship and made himself look like an asshole with the way he handled the situation.. But the point is he did not want to be there and made it clear by doing these types of things on the field and during practice. There's a very high possibility that he will do a complete 180 in New England and start playing like he did with the Vikings.

Yeah I hope he fails too... Don't forget about that game against K.C. when Brooks threw that pick in the end zone. Randy was supposed to be there but he was walking in the back of the end zone instead of stepping in-between the two defenders that were playing zone.

I hope he fails in New England too...
