PHP is a little more difficult than following tutorials, its like learning a new language. PHP is similar to ASP, and coldfusion, and many others, first you need to decide what it is about PHP that you need vs. the others.

well...I was told that I dont need PHP for what Im trying to do. Here's some examples of what lookin to accomplish. Look at the layout on each site, the multiple frames that only take up half a page.

naw man dont worry about it, iFrames really arent used by a lot of HTMLers, and the whole coding world does get confusing. just keep searching and learning, if the RAP boards arent helping you, then get on some in the field you are interested in.
most of these dudes arent web designers, very few of us are, and this shit is too complicated to be explaing on a message board. so just hit up the right peeps, and resources. good luck.
