i feel ive made a hit.. more than once for this album...
and to me.. i know i gotta hit, when the hair on my neck stands up.. and after i write the hook, at random moments, i just get up and start gigin like im on e.. repeatin the hook.... i can feel it.. i dont pick beats tho edj, so i cant really tell you from that point of view...

then you said one mans hit could be garbage to somebody else....

Right... So in other words, a hit is something that gets your name out there on a level that previous material hadn't, like when some obscure 14 year old in Alabama has heard your shit on the radio. LMAO!

i was layin out my comment for EDJ,he didnt understand me or he didnt feel me,so quit arguing and jump out our "argument"....
but since you hopped in with some bullshit,your sayin if you rap/produce and nobody knew of you exept a few friends and family,you did a decsent song and now your neighborhood knows about you,thats a hit? it "is" on another level.the world you live in must be full of hits,and every dissagreement on this board must be an argument....

And as for your question, I mean, you know the answer...you just know. The best is when you first lay a hot soundin drum beat, or bassline, or piano lick, and you can just feel that it's gonna be heat. It's like at that point it's all autopilot, and the beat just kinda makes itself.

WHATS A HIT? A SONG THAT WILL BE REMEMBERED (AND PLAYED) TEN YEARS DOWN THE ROAD? PERSONALLY I DO IT LIKE THIS. I FEEL AS THOUGH I'VE MADE A TIGHT BEAT IF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING HAPPENS:
1.IM ASKED TO SLANG IT.
2.IM ASKED TO GHOST PRODUCE BUT THEY WANT CREDIT(SOMETHING I'VE DONE ON THE UNDER FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS NOW)
3. A CLIENT IS AT MY SPOT (OR I'M AT SOMEONE ELSES SPOT) AND THEY CAN LACE THE TRACK AND HAVE A SONG IN COUPLE OF HOURS.
4.THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE TO ME. IF I CAN MAKE A BEAT, GO TO BED THINKING ABOUT IT AND WANT TO HEAR IT AS SOON AS I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING IT'S A KEEPER.

You don't know who produced what on here.........2, his definition of hit is prolly heat, which is my definition, a hit doesn't have to be determined by Billboard, it's on you as the artist or producer.......
