Im looking for a producer or a producing school where I can learn the in's and out's of becoming a rap producer. If you are a producer and would like to teach a young muthafucka how to produce on a one on one basis and you really know your shit and your way around the studio, then get at me. Im trying to make this into a profession and am serious bout this music thang and tryna to work my way into the music industry. Mom's and pops want me to go to college, and thats coo, but all the community college studio type classes are on some weak shit. So, Im looking for a school that can teach me how to produce music and how to work the equiptment. I know there are many music schools out there, but Im tryna find a school that teaches just RAP music. and if I cant find that, my next best idea (which i think would be more better) is to work with a producer (experienced) one on one till I get the whole thang down to where I feel comfortable wit it.....So if yall got any ideas on where I can go next semester that would be hella coo.....OR if you are a producer and really know your shit and how to get around in a studio, then hit me up plz......IM WILLING TO PAY SKRILL for some of your time.....Good lookin out folks!

hit me on my e-mail

The first thing to be aware of is that being a "music producer" is NOT defined as someone who makes 'beats'.

There was a big discussion about this a while back and the definitions to titles like "producer, composer, recording artist, engineer, etc" were explained.

With that being said, I strongly recommend you search for that thread. The VERY FIRST THING you need to learn is WHAT all these titles mean and how they relate to each other. I would even recommend getting a book about it because you'ld be suprised how many people make music (even professionally) and still don't know what the fuck they are talking about.

The best way is hands-on. Maybe try to work for a local studio. Read a lot, try musiciansfriend.com, and rapindustry.com Read, read, read. Im solely an artist but sometimes a producer. I know from self teaching and asking questions. Always think in the publics favor, "would they/I listen to this, will they dance, will this sell, will kids sing it, is it catchy, does this make sense." Also, remember, that producing isn't necessarily engineering.
A producer to a song is as a director to a movie or the choreographer to a dancestep. Also, when you say school for producing, that is really acquired, not many schools for producing, basically they are for engineering. Engineering is more technical, producing is a bit more mental. Music changes daily, therefore you have to cater to that. There's no school that will keep up with the transpositions of music. ASK, ASK, ASK. Im on the EAST COAST, and 1 thing in comparison to our sites, is that the West is more personal and will talk to you. The East has an arrogance and won't talk unless money is involved.

GOOD LUCK Young Moe and Young K9.

Also Young Moe, thats the attitude to have, you'll make it, you seem like you take initiative.

PEACE TO YOUNG MOE, YOUNG K9 and SICKWIDIT
