He may be getting recognition as the 'King of the South' now, but T.I. spent a minute grinding in obscurity before getting to enjoy all the acclaim. In the new video from his upcoming album, The King, Tip takes us through a cinematic depiction of his ascension from local hustla to nationwide kingpin. Featuring T.I.'s Pimp Squad Clique, the video is a gripping tale that only a true "Urban Legend" could make his own. You need to check out "ASAP" now.

Hmmmm. Unlike alot of folks IMO I think TI is one of the better young major artist in the game right now. He spits heat and makes songs that stand out whether you feel them or not.

But with saying that....at this point in his career calling his album "The King"....that is just stupid.

Yeah, barely...

I know TI is a hustler though, because his 1st album only sold 150,000 records and most artists will never come out again after that. He must have put a lot of up front money of his own on "Trap Muzik" cuz I don't even see how that came out after the last track record

for real

and anyone who's listened to southern rap for a considerable ammount of time will NOT agree that t.i. is the king of the south......

scarface is considered the king.... he's a rap legend.... and the next king of the south will be a rap legend also.... and t.i. is not showing any potential of being a rap legend.....

More deserving "Kings" of the South...

Andre3000 (One of the greatest rappers of all time) and Big Boi (repped it 4 years)

Lil Jon (gave the south more recognition nationally in the last 3 years than it ever had)

JD (love him or hate him, he has birthed a LOT of the music coming out of there for years)

Lil Flip (Equally as deserving for king of the south as TI, like him or not)

Scarface- The obvious KING of the South... has been and always will be. How are you even gonna say you're the king when this man was putting out classics when you were a baby????

who else?

Its a damn shame how Master P name hardly ever comes up when people are discussing the King Of The South. His name should be the first one that come up...not for his music, but for what he did for the south. He did more than Outkast and The Geto Boys. He took the spotlight away from the westcoast, which is something neither Outkast or the The Geto Boys was able to do.

^^^thats true 100%. forget about the music, that dude brought the business and the industry to the south. i have never felt any of Master P's music but that is beside the point.

I was around when him and Lil Romeo were filming a movie about 5-6 months ago and he looked at me and a couple others to ask if we had any music to play in the background of a party scene. I brought out my album and right before we were about to start shooting the scene, he said, "I don't want you to sue me for the rights to use this later, so we better use something else." The dude is about his money and is a smart businessman..

I wouldn't have sued him cuz I'm not like that, but he was smart for protecting himself
