Time travel in the conventional sense of "Back to the future" or "Time Machine" type shit is impossible.
However, a wise man is one who realizes that "time" does not exist in the way we perceive it. The reality is that time is eternal. There is no beginning and there is no ending to "time". There is no "before" and "after". There is only an infinite NOW. Eternity.
Our souls, the being which we actually "are", is also eternal. This eternality directly conflicts with what we experience through our material bodies, because we know that our present body had a beginning and we know that it will end at some point. So an intelligent person is one who endeavors to understand and cultivate knowledge about this eternal spirit soul.
What is this spirit soul? It is consciousness. What is consciousness? Consciousness is "I AM". The thought "I AM" is a property of mind, but consciousness is even beyond mind. Consciousness is the very life force of every living being.
Many times you hear or you have said "I changed my mind", or "I got my mind made up". Notice, that the *I* we are referring to ourselves as, is
distinct from the mind, which is why we say "
I got *my* mind made up". The *MY* in that sentence indicates
posession. Therefore the *I* that each of us is, is NOT our mind, nor is the *I* our bodies. Our consciousness lies beyond our material bodies and beyond our mind and all its thoughts. So how does the soul tie in to time travel?
Through direct connection with that eternal soul, the perfect yogi posesses supermental capabilities the likes of which we cannot fathom. The yogi is able to create a planet and project himself there. He is able to travel all throughout the material universe to different planets at the speed of mind. The speed of mind is above even the speed of light. And "God speed", the speed of spirit, is infinitely more rapid than even the speed of mind. So one who is in direct contact with his soul has experience of timelessness. This timelessness means that one ceases to reside in "relative" time and instead resides in "eternal" time, where there is no more past and future, only an infinite *NOW*.
Since time is actually an ever-continuous "NOW", where is the possibility of going "back" in time, or into the "future"? There is none. Anyone who tells you they have gone "forward" in time and then come back to "now" is either deceitful or just plain crazy.
Through the yoga process one can raise the soul up through the 5 different life airs within the body, and then direct his soul to wherever he desires. There is the air of the abdomen, the chest, the neck, the middle of the head, and the very top of the head. To raise the soul upwards requires an extraordinary amount of breath control, literally stopping the ingoing and outgoing air process and basically remaining in suspended animation combined with deep meditation for extremely long amounts of time. This process is basically impossible for us in the Kali-Yuga, but in earlier times it was common activity.
Travelling through "time" is not possible, but since "time" has no meaning without "space", travelling through space-time is quite possible.
