I went to college in and frequented Beebe daily for many years, and from that experience I can tell you that it was delta land and got crazy crosswinds when storms were coming through the area.
I think they were flying and got struck by lightning and the crosswinds carried them to the area, which would lend itself to why it's only one kind of bird and they all fell in the same location.
That huge storm that blew through the Midwest stretched from Texas to Kansas recently I think is the cause.
