I was looking at some his old matches that boy was a cold ass technical wrestler and knew how to make all his opponents look good in the ring. I wouldve luved to see him vs hbk. WWE needs to make a dvd for him asap since they dropped the ball on him when he was alive.
Rick Rude and Curt Henning are my favorite wrestlers of al time, WWE dropped the ball on both of these guys. That was back when no one but hogan could hold the belt and people got like year long title runs only defending the belt at 4 pay per views a year.
he had the whole package to be a top wrestler. imo he made jake roberts, sting, steamboat and warrior look great in they matches. see back then when things took place i was a kid and didnt understand what selling moves and etc meant but now that I look back he did a perfect job.
I recorded over summerslam 89 or 90 but in between the music videos i recorded I saved thei warrior vs rude match in a steel cage for the strap.
it was a relativly quick match. rude shined in that match but still lost.
at 1 point warrior is down and rude climbs the cage to the very top. he is 3 secs from being champ all he has to do is climb down. but of course he goes for the double hammer fist and warrior hits him in the breadbasket and the match goes the warriors way from there on out.
when ever I watch that 7 min match I always think all rude had to do was climb down the outside of the cage and he's champ. as a heel in those days rick rude drew major heat and rude didnt even to have the ic belt. he drew heat no matter what I can only imagine how much he could have eventualy taken the company as a heel champion.
he was the total package. I always sit and wonder what if?? what if he just jumped down outside the cage.....
