yeah mayne i remember 5 years ago when i used to do market research..i was interviewing this woman, and her and her husband had an income of 150k combined at a tech job. both were laid off on the SAME day!
dont trip rick I lost my job in december..not a tech job, but i got let go nonetheless..took me a month to find a job..i start next week, workin for the government..

That's unfortunate Rick. Sorry to hear that.
I've hit a series of bumps myself. The company that I worked at for 8 years announced it was closing back in July so I was let go in August. I found a new job before I left so I was never even out of work. My new gig was paying me 10K more a year so I was happy. Well after being there for 3 months the company decided to downsize drastically and I was told at the beginning of December that December 30th would be my last day. So the holidays sucked I must say.
So I've been out of work since then. It's an uncomfortable situation especially if you don't really have any savings or anything.
I got a small severance which is helping me take care of rent and bills, but that runs out in a couple weeks. In addition to that I also got my unemployment benefits started right away after my last day so I at least have something coming in while I look for work.
Get that unemployment shit started right away though man. It's nowhere close to what you need to live, but at least it's something coming in to help out.
