"this is the life" A documentary on the early 1990's LA hip hop.
During all the gang shit that was going on, deep in the hoods of leimert park there was a collective of MC's....who's only goal was to be the tightest niggas lyrically. These MC's, whether you know it or not... Set the lyrical bar for our entire state, crossing across the nation and the globe. The MC's in this movie are now legends, and bring you back to where it all started. good life cafe, niggas freestyling and battling.

the mc's in the video have destroyed mc's all across the board. from wu tang to any nigga in LA.

Also covers the interesting story of how bone thugs and harmony ended up in LA with eazy E, Were seen at good life cafe and all the sudden started rappin like niggas in LA...specifically myka 9..And how Ice cube was sounding exactly like volume 10 on the lench mob shit... (go back and say all that shit in your head.. "w the boom ping ping! listen to the ill shit that i bring bring!" play cubes verse that was volume 10s style from pistol grip pump and ice cube was biting it...if you arent a hip hop head, youre about to learn something about the west coast you had no idea about.

I went to the movies screening in LA, where everyone in blowed was there and present, answered questions after, etc. it was a moment in west coast history im glad to have been there to experience, and made me proud to remember what the west coast did.....

a noteable mc from project blowed that you may remember is volume 10, from 'pistol grip pump' that was covered by rage against the machine..a true testement to how far west coast underground hip hop really was streching.

when you see these young LA niggas like odd future blowing up, on jimmy fgallon..with that hip hop shit you NEVER SAW on mainstream TV...this is what set it up for that to be possible. LA hip hop was literally birthed in this form and is given to you on video to experience first hand.

I made a thread about this before but it was not on youtube. now it is.
enjoy.

mykah 9 is from another planet... but everybody used to go to ggodlife - gangstas, backpack, space rap, weed rap, etc.. Good life was the shit and in the day time we used to get beef patties and other bomb shit from there cuz it was a health store. I don't think it's literally in leimert park though its north of dorsey park and rodeo across the st from the superchurch.

Everybody check the doc. out the lady who directed it did a damn good job.

That was a trip about Mikah 9 and Bone Thugs. Either that was one helluva coincidence or they straight jacked his style.
