The Wrestling Observer is reporting that despite vignettes for Ron Killings' "Pretty Ricky" character not appearing on TV in several weeks, the character has not been completely scrapped by the WWE creative team. The main issue at this point is that aside from Vince McMahon's personal love of the "Pretty Ricky" gimmick, there aren't many others in management that are behind Killings mainly due to his age. They feel that at the age of 37, and with WWE going through somewhat of a "youth movement," it's not a wise decision to invest too much into a Killings push.

lol "its not a wise decision" cause of his age of 37. IF this is true then that is ridiculous. Lets see triple h is 40 and they still push this fag like its still the attitude era, Undertaker is tight but hes also old, Batista is around that age, and they still hype his ass up all the time, big show i think is late 30's, truth is tight, wwe keeps pushin the wrong people and ignoring the hard working ones.....

All the people you mentioned have a long history in wrestling and no longer need a "push" to be popular.
yeah but its the wwe...they dont needa be pushed long to be a champion...the right matches booked, promos etc ..look at swagger...they gave him the ecw championship pretty quick. Im just saying, it doesnt make sense if this was true that they are hesitant to push him cause of his age...

We remember Marty Wright (Boogeyman) from Tough Enough tryouts being told he could not continue because he was 40 at the time. The judges said that he was out because he lied by saying he was 30. If he had not lied about his age, he could not have never gotten before them though because there was an age cutoff if memory serves me correct. He did eventually get on though. Ageism sucks, for all of us, regardless of our current age, because we are only going to get older.

so much for Equal Opportunity Employment.

IMO, you can push anyone in Wrestling. Its the gimmicks that are trendy and that attach to people. If R Truth can pull it off, then let him. But age shouldnt be an issue as far as him as a wrestler (especially pro wrestling).

Yeah that's bullshit they pushed Batista as everyone said. Besides no one expects R Truth in the title picture, hell make him active for the US title... His age don't matter, he can go and shows no signs of old age WTF

I think the only black guy they pushed to the championship in the WWE was the rock and he was only half. He was also the most electrifying man in sports entertainment

Booker T was pushed

so was Bobby Lashely before he left
Exactly.

People are always looking for reasons to bring race into the picture.

Anyway, I don't see why his age should prevent him from being pushed. Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair were damn near 90 when they stopped so I'm sure R-Truth could easily continue wrestling for another 5-10 years or so. Personally I can't imagine him as a top star, though. I have a feeling the "creative" team can't see it, either.
