hey here's a great site on the prison problem
of the 2 million people behind bars, half are blacks and of the
general population blacks make up 12%. hmmmm?
one of the reasons why it double since the 80s was the
war on drug, the harsh laws against drug use. which
is non vlolence crimes.

Yep, that shits fucked up. It also depends on where u at. Up in Wa i know they got a problem. Somthin like 65% of peeps locked up is for minor drug offenses, talkin bout county only. The govt need to spend all the money they spend "fighting the war on drugs" on drug prevention, education, and treatment instead. People are going to do drugs regardless. Why not make drug use legal, and sell it out of state run facilties like liquor stores (up here at least). If drugs were legal, youd stop all trafficing, and lower crime at the same time. Least thats what i think. theres my 2 cents on the issue.

If you get caught doing wrong you get throwN' into jail no matter what race you are.
by having tough laws against drugs, they impact minority communities, which are usualy poor.

JUSt like SkuddySavage said they should spend all that money used for prison into "drug prevention, education, and treatment..."

Building private prisons is big money for the owners, shit they don't care, they just want prisoners. u can find sources online about the bisiness of private prisons.
