Fire Starter: The Pack
The summer's love affair with skateboard culture continues with Too Short's new group, the Pack. They have a single called "Vans," which pays homage to a favorite brand of footwear among skateboarders. The record spread from their native Berkeley, California, to the rest of the Bay Area and is now bumping in L.A. Their buzz was so big, Short immediately jumped on the "Vans" wagon and signed the teen quartet of Lil Uno, Young L, Lil B and Young Stunna to his Up All Nite Music label and, subsequently, to Jive Records. Their debut, Vans, is due later this summer and features Keak Da Sneak, Mistah F.A.B., Jody Breeze and Short himself.

true... but i'd like to hear other tracks from 'em too. song is catchy, and is destined for mainstream. after we got our hold, then quinn, messy, bailey and everybody else will shine in the light.... ahhh! YEE YEE

i talked to an executive from Zomba yesterday that said that the Pack will be distributed through Jive, through Up All Night, but not be on the roster, kind of like how any artist on SMC(B-Legit, Balance, Bullys Wit Fullys, Quinn are distributed through Fontana/Universal.....anyway, I don't really feel their music at all and really think that there are so many more talented artists out here, but it's good to see them get a nice deal(distribution or whatever). It's more than what most people out here can say. This will only put some more people's eyes on the bay and that doesn't sound bad to me at all.
