CINCINNATI, Ohio -- A Caucasian man charged in six robberies across southern Ohio posed as an African American in an effort to get away with his crimes, prosecutors say.
Conrad Zdzierak was arrested on Wednesday in Springdale, Ohio after police raided a hotel room where he was staying.
According to authorities, Zdzierak has been charged with six counts of aggravated robbery for robbing five banks and one pharmacy.
Police say five of the robberies took place on the same day.
Bank surveillance images captured Zdzierak masquerading as an African American by wearing a face mask.
Police say Zdzierak would demand money, claiming he had a gun, although no gun was ever shown during the robberies.
Zdzierak's bond is set at $3 million.
