I was about to donate something, but they've more than doubled the goal in just 2 days, plus I'm sure he had insurance so he will be compensated. It's really sad he lost his dog, personal items, and especially the music though.

I guess someone at the guardian site thought it was a good idea to use this event to get on their soapbox & rant about celebs using kickstarters. They already got guilted into changing the headline, which used to say something about a "puppy sob story". Just really mean spirited, wtf. Some people have no empathy but plenty of stupidity.

I get her point, and agree with it to an extent, but she could have used a much better example to make it and not some borderline semi popular artist whose whole apartment burnt down where he lost everything including his dog.
But then again like also if idiots want to give already rich people money (not that this was the case here) to fund their endeavors then whatever it's the idiots money and they can do as they please with it.
