Happy New Years to all of our siccness fam... 2006 was the year Mac & A.K. & E&K Music Group went back to the basics. We didn't drop our album as we originally planned, instead we chose to hit the streets and rebuild our network with other artists and DJ's to make sure we have a good 2007. Really the end of 2005 was where we started. We performed at the Bay Area Rap Summit in Nov. 05, I produced a track on San Quinn's "The Rock" album (Tell Me What The Price Is). We gave out free T-Shirts and street singles to help create the buzz. We did shows all around Northern Cali from Modesto to Stockton, to San Fran to San Jo to Fremont to Santa Rosa to Pacifica etc... We was everywhere puttin it down. We performed at the Super Hyphy Tour in Santa Rosa (Thanks to D-Sharpe and DJ Amen), Performed with Balance at the Hot Import Nights in San Jose (Thanks to Rick Lee) and did our biggest show at the Bay Love Pt. 2 show in San Jose (Thanks to Drac and Allegiance Ent.).
In 2006 we networked and shared the stage with every one from Keak Da Sneak, Yuckmouth, B-Legit, Jacka & Husallah, Petey Pablo, Mistah F.A.B., Planet Asia, Bavgate, Balance, Scweez, Baby Face Assasins, Furious, Turf Talk, E-A-SKi, Get Gone Records Camp, Dem Hoodstarz, San Quinn, Big Rich, Bailey, Gorilla Pits, Black N Brown, Thizz Ent. and many others. We even got invited to video shoots for Too Short (Blow The Whistle) which we reconnected wit old fam like V. White, Richie Rich, D-Shot, F.M. Blue and others. We also got invited to The Pack video "Shinin" but missed it due to a studio session to finish the new album.
We helped put togther a historic City to City for Xplosive magazine featuring all East Palo Alto artists (Thanks to Cesar & Ron). We was on alot of big mixtapes in the Bay and beyond from the Metal Mouth DJ's, to the Demolition Men to DJ Juice to DJ Classic to DJ Frresh in Portland to Al Greenz in Stockton and the list goes on. Basically we put our foot back in the game on the streets and beyond.
In 2007, look for alot more of the same. Mac & A.K. will be in the streets real heavy if God willin. This year will be the long awaited release of a few projects. The first album that's gonna drop is a banger called "LEGENDARY". It's 20 tracks full of straight heat all produced by yours truly. On this album no major features, instead we are opening the door for alot of new artists to git they shine on. We got cats from EPA, Atlanta all the way to the NY and they all bring heat. We'll drop the mixtape entitled "HOOD LEGENDS VOL. 1" in January and the "LEGENDARY" album in either March or April. We also got a Mac & A.K. presents "THE GREATEST SLAPS 1996-2007" featuring tracks from all our albums and tracks from comps and soundtracks we've been on over the years.
Then we'll drop the 2nd album which is called "ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE". This album features Dem Hoodstarz, Mistah F.A.B., Get Gone Records Camp, Planet Asia, Furious, Flii Stylz, Money Mont & King Cydal. Right before the album, we'll drop the mixtape "HOOD LEGENDS VOL. 2". We'll also be doin exclusive mixtapes wit Demolition Men, DJ Maniakal & DJ Quantum, DJ Frresh from Portland and a few more DJ's as well. That's it right there... Look for us to make our move up the ladder of the Bay's finest. One love & much success to everybody in the struggle tryna get theres as well. See yall at the top...
