glad to see this thread starting to take off.......

heres another tip:

when smoothing out wrinkles or other skin perfections try this:
duplicate the layer, then do a heavy gaussian blur (at least 3.5 pixels)

then add a layer mask

with your paint bucket tool put black over the mask (this will make the blur'd layer invisible)
then, with a small soft edge brush with the opacity at about 5-10%, use the color white to slowly go over the wrinkles......you will see them start to blend.....take your time

do it until your satisfied

itz not perfect, but it does work if you take your time

yo mad love on that one been trying to figuire the correct way to do this

Actually most filters except the blurs and maybe sharpen and such ain't good to use most of them effects can be done cleaner without a filter or plugin.
I agree. I never said any of the above was a good idea. However, out of those filters, there are a few that can be very useful.

The best effects can be done manually and with layer manipulation and styles IMO.

Just the majority of "new" artists use lens flares in their images. It's been like that forever, I would say that's the oldest tip in the books, do not use lens flares.

ok......

#1Color correct your images using LEVELS and CURVES
(get to know these options very well!!!).
Make sure u're using the adjustment layers to make these corrections,
(and others found on adjustment layers menu) to edit your images in a non-desructive way.

#2 Anytime u resize an image,
wether its the TRANSFORM option to resize a layer within,
or a total resize of the image itself, run the UNSHARP MASK filter....
as u resize images, PS softens them up.......
