What it does family... We in the 4th month of the year and the movement has just begun to take shape. Here's what we got goin. We started out the year finally getting our new website up for our label E&K Music Group (you can visit us at www.eandkmusicgroup.com). We co-hosted Mixtape Live Pt. 8 with DJ Maniakal & DJ Quantum, from there we show up on the red hot Demolition Men Presents Out The Trunk 4 Hosted by Mac & A.K. killin em with exclusives you can't find no where else.
We've been in the streets from Cali to Portland at all the events worth talkin about and now we really finna kick it into High Gear... Believe it. First, we got the new exclusive mixtape entitled "HOOD LEGENDS VOL. 1", mixed by DJ Doc Boogie and DJ Dizzy, hosted by the one and only JusDre Intl. (Of Booty Crack Magazine fame). 23 knocks right upside your head if you one of the don't knows so again SNATCH IT... We've just started recording "HOOD LEGENDS VOL. 2" (Which will be all original material. DJ's, features and host to be named at a later date).
Next we've finished up back to back albums for the first time at our own studio (Grind Time Studios in the heart of East Palo Alto), starting with the highly anticipated set up album "LEGENDARY" (All tracks Produced, Arranged, and mixed by the most slept on producer in the Bay, Me... Mac P). This is a back to basics album for Mac & A.K. (Straight beats & Lyrics like they used to do), and on this album we decided to leave off big name features for all the fans who've asked for more Mac & A.K., and trust me we carry the weight. We also play the big homie role, and give back by letting up and coming cats from as far as Atlanta (Slim Gutta) to New York (Boulevard) get they shine on, so look out for some of the homies like Money Mont (Whose debut solo album is also finished), King Cydal (His album is also finished), G-Dub (Whose album Dub Nation 2 just came out), Co-Defendants, Shake (One of the 1st EPA rappers to ever do it), Les Gimix (A South Bay beast on the mic) and Yung Dangle all bringin nuthin but heat. This album is being mastered as we speak and will be released around late June/Early July.
If you don't know, we also make an appearance on the Highly acclaimed B.A.R.C. Presents "Stay In School" maxi-single along side E-40, Keak Da Sneak, Dem Hoodstars, The Jacka, Cellski, San Quinn, Battle Loco and Erase-E. This is a movement started by the homie Kontac (God bless you bro) that we hope will spread like fire and spark the young minds to take heed and Stay in School, and we hope you guys really support this to the fullest.
As I mentioned earlier, the follow up album to "LEGENDARY" is also completed, but I'm gonna keep the title under wraps, just know it's more of that EPA street shit featuring cats like Mistah F.A.B., Planet Asia, Dem Hoodstars, Furious and more, but I'll leave it at that since we got enough on our plate ya dig. Cats keep expecting us to fall off the map, but it just won't happen with God on our side and enough hustle in the two of us to fill up 10 full sized battle ships. Everything is being handled in house from distribution to promotions and marketing, P.R. etc.. We literally doin the job of 30 muthafuckas like it's nuthin. No management, no outside backing, no yes men, just two of the realest niggas in the game not taking no for an answer.
We aint waiting for shit, we taking our spots as Legends in the Bay. Learn about it. Oh and check for the ads and interviews in the upcoming issues of STASH, BOSS STATUS and HOODSTAR Magazines, and shows and TV interviews popping up just about anywhere (One love to Rep The Bay). If anything else pops up (Like Mac co-starring with the Beautiful Genevieve in his first movie role), we'll let you know.
One love to all of our siccness fans and family for embracing us when the major labels tripped up and let us sneak out the back door before they could ruin our names. Lastly, to anybody thinking about giving up, take our story and use it as motivation. You gotta believe in your self when no one esle will, and you gotta invest in your self before anybody else will. Don't wait for no hands out when you can boss up, put in mad work and do for self like so many great people before us.
